Hiking/Waterfalls:
Only 6 miles from the Dillard House is the beautiful 1,743-acre Black Rock Mountain State Park. This park features a visitor center, hiking, fishing, stunning mountain views, a lake and more! Call 706-746-2141 for more.
A little under 20 miles from the Dillard House, you will find Tallulah Gorge State Park, where visitors can enjoy a 1,000-ft. gorge, waterfalls, hiking, an interpretive center and more! Call 706-754-7981 to find out more.
Glen Falls – This tall, 3-level waterfall is accessible at different points and offers a wonderful mountain view. A short hike will take you to the top of the falls. Located only 14.8 miles from the Dillard House on GA Hwy 246.
Dry Falls – Located 18.7 miles from the Dillard House on U.S. Hwy 64. A beautiful high-volume waterfall in the Cullasaja Gorge. A short, paved walkway leads behind the waterfall. Easy trail suitable for anyone who can do 20-30 stairs. A handicap walkway is available at the top of the stairs for easy viewing of the falls.
Rabun Bald - With an elevation of 4,696 feet, this is the second-highest peak in Georgia. An observation tower provides hikers with views that can extend more than 100 miles on a clear day. This hike is 5.8 miles roundtrip via the Rabun Bald Trail. Located only 9.5 miles from the Dillard House.
Whiteside Mountain - Located 22.7 miles from the Dillard House, Whiteside Mountain has an elevation of 4,930 feet, boasting some of the highest cliffs in Eastern North America. The trail is 2.5 miles roundtrip and is moderate difficulty as it is an old, wide road but is fairly steep the entire ascent.
