Franklin Folk Festival
A Celebration of Appalachian Heritage in Franklin, NC
Always the 3rd Saturday in July!

Come to the mountains of Western North Carolina and discover the Franklin Folk Festival! Always held the third Saturday in July, the Annual Franklin Folk Festival is sponsored the Folk Heritage Association of Macon County and the Franklin Main Street Program. Our mission is to preserve and educate about the rich heritage of Franklin, NC and Macon County.

The Franklin Folk Festival features more than 100 living exhibits and demonstrations to allow visitors to experience what mountain life was like way back when. These folks learned at their parents’ knee woodcarving, moon shining, basket making, weaving and spinning, and all the many other things they’ll be demonstrating. New this year will be Bluegrass Jam Sessions!Download information here.

Exhibits include everything from quilting and moonshinin' to Civil War reenactors.

Activities get underway at 9:00 a.m. and conclude with Pickin' in downtown Franklin.

Visitors to the Franklin Folk Festival are in for a fantastic time. In addition to all the demonstrations and arts & crafts there's a full schedule of outstanding mountain music and plenty of “heritage” food.

Admission and parking for the event are FREE!

The Franklin Folk Festival showcases the Appalachian Heritage
of the Mountains of Western North Carolina. It's a great day of FREE FUN for the entire family.
