Corporate & Group Meetings

While our reputation has been built on caring for the family traveler, many are unaware that we have an enviable reputation as a consummate Corporate Host. Our corporate guests love the variety of food and accommodations we have to offer including the famous Dillard House "family-style" meals, custom prepared gourmet meals in our Oaklawn facility or the extra special treat of steak or barbecue cookouts. Our facilities offer everything the seasoned traveler has come to expect. All of our guest rooms are new or newly renovated. Luxurious suites, charming cottages and a variety of chalets in our Chalet Village are also available.

Our corporate guests love the opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of the urban environment. They find our out-of-the-city getaway the perfect spot for developing teamwork and understanding between management and staff. The Dillard House can create staff development and enrichment programs including exciting whitewater adventures on the Nantahala and Chattooga rivers. The Nantahala Outdoor Center can create rope challenge courses on site tailored for your corporate, youth or university group's needs. The outdoor environment is our "action learning" classroom and enables us to work with your staff in exciting and innovative ways to capitalize on their individual and team potential.

The many activities at the Dillard House and in the surrounding area ensures a memorable visit for any group. We offer on our premises: horseback riding with trails into the Chattahoochee National Forest, swimming, tennis courts, stocked trout ponds, volley ball court and horseshoe pits. Nearby is whitewater rafting (an excellent way to build teamwork!). Supreme golfing facilities are available at local 18-hole courses: Sky Valley, Kingwood, Waterfall, and The Orchard. Located in Highlands, North Carolina (20 miles from the Dillard House) are two more championship 18-hole courses: Highlands Cove and Trillium. We'll do whatever we can to make your visit with us an enjoyable one!

There are no stuffy offices or cubicles to be found, just the beauty of nature and the peaceful, stress free feeling one experiences when surrounded by it. Find your team's true potential by taking them out of the city with all it's traffic, noise and diversions.

Meeting Facilities

The James Room, located in Henry's Playhouse, is the larger of our two meeting rooms. It's capacity varies with your meeting style: Theater Style meetings (or receptions) can accommodate 250 to 300 persons; Classroom Style meetings can accommodate 100 to 150; and 200 to 250 can be seated for Banquet Style meetings and meals. This space is 96' x 36' (exclusive of the 21' x 36' dance floor/dais area). The end of this room features a massive stone fireplace.

The new Straiton Room is also available in Henry's Playhouse; it is 51' x 36' and also boasts a huge stone fireplace. In this room, Theater Style meetings (or receptions) can accommodate 125 persons. Classroom Style meetings can accommodate 60, and 100-120 can be seated for Banquet Style meetings and meals. A kitchen and service area is available in the building as well.

The Oaklawn Inn is the original Dillard home. It was converted many years ago to accommodate guests. We offer two rooms today for use as intimate meeting rooms. The Living Room (16' x 37') has a comfortable fireplace which adds just the right touch to any small group meeting. The Dining Room (18' x 25') immediately adjacent to the Living Room, offers yet another intimate meeting area. It also has it's own fireplace. Combined, the two rooms can accommodate up to 60 persons. Oaklawn Inn is the perfect spot for special gourmet meals and meetings for smaller groups.

Outdoor Catering is also offered to groups. We specialize in outdoor BBQ's. What could be more relaxing than a good old southern BBQ with the smoky mountains in the back ground. Our grounds are beautifully landscaped and there is always plenty of room.
